Offices are inherently boring. It's full of repetitive tasks and boring surroundings that harm morale- is there something I can do to make people happier in work?

This is the beginning

I have had the joy of working in an amazing office- LEGO was an experience to say the least. We were doing incredibly fun work, something that can't be said for a lot of office workers in Europe and North America.

Ideally I hope to design a range of products aimed at breaking routines in traditional work environments. This will provide a stimulating, interactive environment increasing employee morale and hopefully in turn, work satisfaction.

By designing three products as part of a range I hope to enrich the three main areas in work starting with co-workers.

By finding out how people relate to their colleagues I can create an intervention, which encourages banter and a touch point not normally found in normal work environments.

Secondly, I hope to introduce a product that exploits the normal 9 – 5 routine, the boredom and monotony associated with it. My idea is to provide a social, uncertain and surprising feature that encapsulates relief from a possibly boring job.

Lastly, I hope to look at the environment that people work in, is there a way I can create something which isn’t permanent but can increase the aesthetic of a traditionally non-stimulating environment.
